About kelly
Over three decades ago, I married my best friend, and together we've built a life I'm deeply grateful for. We raised three amazing sons, welcomed two wonderful daughters-in-law into our family, and now get to enjoy the incredible blessing of being grandparents to two precious little ones. Life is full, and life is good.
But my journey to becoming a Functional Health Practitioner wasn't born out of a career change. It came from my own health struggles, and a desire to help other women find real answers — and find them much sooner than I did.
My health challenges began early. At just 18 years old, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). By age 24, I finally had an answer for the debilitating pelvic pain and cyclical cramping I'd been living with: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), now known as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).
At 27, while pregnant with my first son, I developed a life-threatening condition called H.E.L.L.P. Syndrome. I was placed on bed rest at 30 weeks, and just five weeks later, my son was delivered early because my liver and kidneys were beginning to fail. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life, but he arrived safely — our beautiful baby boy.
The years that followed brought more challenges. In my early 30s, I was diagnosed with fibroids and endometriosis. As a busy mom raising three young boys, I struggled with stubborn, fluctuating weight and found myself trapped in an unhealthy pattern of dieting and frustration. Food became something I battled instead of something that nourished me.
Then, at just 37 years old, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis, a painful condition affecting the muscular wall of my uterus. That diagnosis led to a partial hysterectomy soon after.
Over the following year, I gained nearly 50 pounds. Like so many women, I found myself yo-yo dieting — one fad diet after another, with nothing sticking. I worked hard, tried countless approaches, and wondered why nothing seemed to create lasting results.
Then, when I was 42 years old, our family lost my brother to cancer. Walking through that season changed my perspective and became the catalyst for taking a more intentional approach to my own health.
That decision marked the beginning of a completely different path for our family's health. I became passionate about understanding how the body works and how to nourish it in a way that supports health instead of simply trying to manage disease. I read books, listened to experts, asked questions, and learned everything I could. As my knowledge grew, so did my family's understanding of the beautiful way our bodies are designed and how deeply nutrition and lifestyle influence our health.
Over the years, I began to recognize that my diagnoses weren't isolated events. They were connected. What I didn't yet understand was why they were connected. I knew there had to be a bigger picture, but I didn't yet have the framework to see it.
Then in 2021, I found a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner to work with. For the first time, everything clicked. I finally understood how stress on the body can gradually disrupt the body's entire ecosystem and contribute to the symptoms I'd experienced for decades. It wasn't just about individual diagnoses anymore; it was about understanding the underlying imbalances that connected them all.
That was it. That was the missing and most important piece of my health puzzle.
It wasn't about eating more vegetables or counting calories.
It wasn't about exercising my way out of a cheeseburger.
It wasn't about taking a pill to keep the symptoms at bay until they showed up bigger and stronger somewhere else.
It WAS about looking deeper at the clues that my body had been giving me all along and uncovering the root causes of the imbalances that led to those symptoms in the first place.
By looking at hormone function, immune health, digestion, detoxification, energy production, nervous system balance, and oxidative stress, we can begin to see where your body is struggling. Together, we work to restore balance so your body can function the way it was designed to.
In March 2026, I became a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner.
I am passionate about helping women connect the dots behind their symptoms so they can find real answers and lasting solutions. That's why I became a Functional Health Practitioner.
